2008 key fob not locking

So my fob unlocks flawlessly, but only locks occasionally. I replaced the battery, but this didn’t solve the issue.

Any advice? Just buy a new one? Like this?

My first thought would be that the lock button only makes occasional contact. I find it more probable than a fault from the receiver. A sophiticated test could be done with a radio receiver in the 315 mHz band (or 433.92MHz in Europe...since we do not know where you are.) to determine if a signal is present..but may be overkill.....
do you have only one key fob ?

I replaced the lost fob on my daughter's 2008 with a used one off eBay, and it works fine. I can't remember the pairing procedure, but it worked. I think it was like $25.
