Not intending to hijack the thread away from a purely DIY-from-scratch AUX cable.... But, I have the factory GPS wire harness. Is there an easy hack to using that as an AUX cable? I assume the original GPS in the flip-lid made use of the AUX input to relay driving instructions, etc.?

Also, all controls for left/right, front/back, treble, bass, etc. do not function in Telephone mode. I have tried different resistances, and they don't seem to make any difference. Am I missing something here? I could put a toggle switch to enable and disable the resister, but the Telephone mode seems to have a different input gain level than the Aux mode, and sounds slightly distorted. Any help, or suggestions would be appreciated.

What year is your head unit?

I'm having this exact same issue! Has anybody heard of this problem? I tried searching for the Grand Vitara issue and didn't find anything that helps. I notice that my headunit is a newer model than that of some DIY'ers who successfully installed this cable. I have a Clarion PS-3140K-A (CLCC14) manufactured in June 2008, whereas some of you have PS-2808K-8 (CLCC04) manufactured in August 2006 or February 2007.

I've cross-checked the original Clarion manuals for each model and it seems the pinout info for the 8-pin plug in the back of both of these models is the same. The only difference (as far as I can tell) is that the PS2808K doesn't mention "Telephone" in the manual but the PS3140K says TEL/AUX.

It's really quite annoying because I have no idea what I did wrong, or how I can fix this... It seems like there are several of us stuck with this problem, too!

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, has anyone wired in a bluetooth unit with a mute trigger to one of the stock radios in a 2009 SX4?

Looking at the wiring diagram above, I can see pin 6 which seems to be a telephone trigger, plus pin 4 and 8 which could be speaker connections so the phone sound comes through the radio speakers.

My radio is the same as the first image below, and the model is a PS-3143K-A. It has a CeBit CD connector in the rear as well as the 8 pin aux connector, along with possibly a speaker common ground (S-GND??)

I just want my radio to mute when the phone rings and the sound to come out of the speakers. Anyone done this or have more info on whether it is as simple as it seems?

    Cheers

    Hi Recon,

So I saw your post here and wanted to reply. I have a exact setup like this in my wifes sx4 that is the AUX wire that plugs into the back of the stock radio. The Aux wire is plugged into a bluetooth setup and funneled through a ground loop isolator to remove any ground noise. The bluetooth is wired into an on/off switch. The blue tooth mic is wired up to a hole I drilled by the mpg display in the angled underlip part.

So when I am listening to my pandora station on my iphone and someone calls.. it will mute the pandora station while I am on the phone.

I love this setup, but have recently decided to go with a touch panel display so I am selling all my brand new parts I have gathered for my gray sx4 for $25 +shipping.
I paid over $50 for all this stuff, so I hope someone finds it useful.

Hey Josh, I recently saw your advert that had been shared to a FB page I follow and was trying to figure out how to get in touch! Mind reader..

Reading your description, it sounds great except i believe it will only work as a hands free for the phone if you happen to be streaming from the phone at the time (ie connected to the BT kit listening to music)...is this right?

If so it will not work for my wife who has listened to music from her phone exactly zero times and has no interest in it (been trying to get her onto Spotify since they killed Pandora in Australia)

Is the hands free unit one of the Belkin AirCast units?

If the system works all the time as a true hands free however (even if listening to the radio) let me know and we will talk more about the setup.

    Steve

It only works when streaming from the phone...
