In case some of you have been under a rock, I stuffed a 17x9" Konig Hypergram wheel on my SX4 couple weeks ago. Fits great and still testing to see if the tire will rub on the inside of the fender mldgs...........................so far so good.

A couple months ago we needed a couple grand for the balance of a down payment on a new house. One of the cars in the stable had to go. I sold the ST and kept the SX4!

Hooked up a smoke machine to the daughter's SX4. Found several places on the pipe from the top of the gas tank to the evap canister that had been chewed through. Did my best with tape and ABS cement to seal it. Hopefully took care of the 456 and 451 codes. Any more will require dropping the tank, which looks like it requires dropping the rear drive shaft.

I had to drop the gas tank for my build. It requires taking out the exhaust and driveshaft. Evap canister, 4 bolts that hold the straps (which I restored). The difficult part is undoing that fuel line that goes in the fuel cage. Careful not to kink it. You can do all sorts of fuel related maintenance while having the tank off (fuel filter, rust proofing, repairing hoses and filler neck etc)

Well, there must still be small leaks there. Code comes back. To drop the tank to access the top, the rest of that pipe, and the connector to the top requires removing the rear drive shaft. Access is very hard without a lift (I had the rear wheels on ramps). We have it booked with a good local shop to fix the tube by cutting it off the two ends and replacing the tube with rubber hose. Tank doesn't have to come all of the way out, but needs to drop enough that the drive shaft will have to drop. Tools and phyisical ability keep me from making this a DIY job. And, while they have it she'll get new tires.

At least, being a Tennessee car, there is minimal rust and all metal fasteners have been easy.

Gave in and took the daughter's 2012 crossover to a shop yesterday and asked them to replace the line from the canister leak test pump to the tank. Told them to go ahead and replace it with rubber hose. It was chewed through in many places, probably by chipmonks. I tried to patch it with tape and ABS plumbing cement, but must have left a tiny leak. They had to drop the tank to get to the upper connector and remove the old hose (that's why I couldn't do the job). After the repair, I had them mount a new set of Hankooks for her. Merry Christmas!

Bought this Boss BV775BLC head unit with backup camera as an xmas gift to myself. Got it for $115 US. Will install in a few weeks. Not looking to enter SPL competitions, lol. Already have a pair of BOSS BASS600 8-Inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofers under the front seats and Polk Audio DB651 co-axials in all 4 doors. Just wanted something that had disc playing capability along with bluetooth and a rear view camera. Don't need nav as have the Gramin unit already and can use Google Maps.
