One of the causes of the breakup was that Suzuki didn't get the expected Diesel technology and motors from VW. Perhaps now we know why VW wouldn't come across with the Diesels.......

Did Suzuki start to question why VW's Diesels were cleaner than any other company's?

    Here's a historical article...
    http://eu-japan.com/2015/09/volkswagen-suzuki-divorce/

Suzuki apparently hoped to receive technology from Volkswagen, Suzuki is reported to have hoped for personnel support, workers from Volkswagen (?) it is not clear to this author what Suzuki was planning to give in return. Suzuki apparently gave up on the hope to obtain Diesel engines from Volkswagen and in the end did so from Fiat, which Volkswagen claimed to be an infringement of the cooperation agreement...

Might as well, if you hear the VW scheme of deceiving buyers.

I thought VW wanted Suzuki's 3D camshaft, but found out that current metallurgy will not allow car engines to use it, just motorcycles with smaller valve springs. Or Suzuki would not let them use it.
