I can't belive it, but according to Automotive News, Suzuki will run Kizashi ads
during the Super Bowl. If this is true, this is the best indicator so far that they are serious about expanding in the USDM.

thats a pretty big leap considering how much a commercial costs in the super bowl....its about time they did that

If it is neither EPIC or hilarious they are wasting time. I vote for both. They need the guy from Progressive commercials driving on a road course with his voice as narration. Sweeping turns, epic skids, and of course with two blow up dolls with mechanical mouths gettin it on in the back seat.

This is such good news I'm almost skeptical of it...

Apparently the spot will air in 14 markets (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2011/01/suzuki-unveils-snowman-ad-for-some-super-bowl-cities/1), presumably snowy ones. Happily for the rest of us there is YouTube.

Considering THIS winter, that could include the entire US except Hawaii and lower Florida. Snow bound Atlanta, for Pete's sake! Several consecutive snows here in Middle Tennessee! 5 to 13 inches in several places below Nashville.

But if I cannot manage with the FWD SX4 sedan, I stay home.

Maybe that's why they haven't been advertising that much... they were saving up so they could afford the ridiculous prices of a Superbowl timeslot. Neat commercial, though.

6spd, that's a nice ad. I do remember some of their ads making a comparrison between their cars and motorcycles.

Here is a link to an article about that campaign, I am still looking for video of the ads themselves. The only one I clearly remember seeing on TV was "salt flats" but I would love to see the "tunnel" ad along with the others in this campaign.

SUZUKI IF YOU ARE LISTENING THIS WAS A GREAT CAMPAIGN, PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!

Actually, I don't think it was a great campaign. Why? Because I don't think most people see a Hyabusa next to a Grand Vitara and go, "Oh yea, they totally share the same DNA." I think it was looked upon by many as a company that makes bad-*** bikes and ho-hum cars. (Of course we don't think that way, but so much of the U.S. does). Although I'm not saying they should necessarily distance themselves from touting their bike production along with their car manufacturing, I do think that comparing a hot bike and a Grand Vitara doesn't resonate with many. Just my dos centavos.

I like the Kizashi ads that compare it to a strech limo, motorized sofa, etc. I think those are funny, whitty, etc. In fact, I'd rather have seen one of those vs. the snowman commercial during the Superbowl. Regardless, I'm just happy to see Suzuki advertising during a major TV broadcast. I still haven't seen any on TV lately (granted, I don't have cable).

when those ads were running I was driving a pos volvo and riding my kawasaki as often as possible. I did not own any Suzuki products at the time but seeing the m109r and the grand vitara together sure got my attention and now here I am. Although I don't subscribe to the belief that a drive in a GV can compare to the thrill of riding a motorcycle, the ad sure stuck with me.

+1, i only knew about suzuki's bikes and some of their older vehicles, nothing about a suzuki sx4, their ads that incorporated their bikes made me make the connection better.

Did I read that correctly? Nashville TN? But not New York City or CT, or NJ? Ouch. I feel left out. But then, Suzuki looks to be doing pretty well around here. I see a bunch of sx4s every day as well as Grand Vitaras and even the occasional Kizashi in Western CT.

It was shown here in the Denver market. It was so short that it started mid commercial and if you hadn't seen it before it wouldn't have really made much of an impact!

Well, FWIW, Suzuki finished last in the Brand Bowl 2011. Then again, since it didn't air nationally, it doesn't seem fair to include it.

http://brandbowl2011.com/

I truly hope Suzuki feels it got its money's worth. It seems, however, like it had very low visibility. I noticed several people on Twitter asking where the ad was.

The ad was shown in only 14 markets where successfull dealerships are located.
