The speculations what would new Fiat L0 look like are going on for months now. It is of particular interest of people here as it is supposed to be assembled in Fiat factory in Serbia. Production line is under construction for several months but no one still knows how the actual car will look like.
Here are the latest renderings. It is supposed to come out in 3 versions. Like a 5 and 7 seater and a "trekking" version, lifted with moldings and plastic "skid plates". This model should replace 2 FIAT and Lancia models (Idea and Musa) as well as the ugliest car in the universe- Multipla (the best car interior I've ever seen).

What do you think?

Looks like they've done to the 500 what Mini did to the Cooper...i.e. Countryman.

BTW, Fiat will supply 100,000 diesel engines to Suzuki India. A deal was signed this week.
It's extra to what Maruti Suzuki manufactures under Fiat license.

Also, there are rumors Suzuki wants to continue making the Sedici replacement.

I'd rather have a Fiat Panda.

Agreed. Specifically, the Panda Cross.

Yup. Panda cross is cute. But my heart is bleeding for old Panda 4x4, with Steyr-Puch badge. Safety, emissions blah blah ... and that was one of the funniest cars ever built.

Steyr-Puch also worked with Daimler to produce the Pinzgauer and Geländewagen.

Yup. We called them "Pinz" and "Puch" in the army, both had Puch badges. I believe Gelandenwagen was branded as Mercedes a few years later? Dunno, gonna google it now. :)
Anyway, that Panda was something special. I drove it shortly as a company car. No one else in the company liked it. All were rushing to sit into Nissan Terrano II or Disco's, missing all the fun that Panda could offer.
Basically a small can on top of formidable drivetrain, powered by a small engine. That car could go anywhere. It was absolutely horrible on the road. Loud, slow, shaking and trembling like mad, no power steering, no sound insulation... but take it off road and you simply fall in love with it.
No wonder it's almost impossible to buy used one these days.

And it had something I wish SX4 had. "Ultra-low" 1st gear. :) Normally you would start from the second gear and use the first off road as low gear. It took me a day or two to realize that. :D

The latest "news" about L0 from the mouth of Fiat Serbia GM is that it will be exported to US. Well, take it with reserve 'cos we have elections soon and it's kind of joint venture between our incapable government and Fiat. Hmm... "incapable government" is a pleonasm, right? :)

I would take a Subaru Justy over any one of those vehicles posted above. I don't think I could tell people that I owned a Fiat.. lol

One cool looking crossover I saw in Mexico in October 2011 was the VW Crossfox.

Too bad they don`t have them here and also too bad I would never want to own a VW.

We used an acronym for it here, meaning "the lonely chicks vehicle". :hi:
This one doesn't look very lonely.:)
