I was looking in to internals. I was just wondered if there is a huge difference or if parts like heads and what not are compatible.

any thing helps.

The GV has a 2.4L. I'm not too sure you can swap things like the head, after all they have a 8mm bigger bore. This is a lot.

I dunno, whole engine swap? :hi:

I DO know that The cougar guys ultimate was a hybrid of the Contour SVT 2.5 V6 and a Taurus 3.0 block.

whole engine swap is doable, but the ECU will suck pretty bad trying to fuel a 2.4L when it's mapped for a 2.0L. no you can't swap the ECU

There's no way to swap harness? But i mean either way not like a standalone wont work. What about internals like from older vitara?

I am not sure if the SX4 has the same piston head but if it does then you should be good there. The Bore and Stroke are 3.31 x 3.54 and it is a 10.5-1 CR rating. An 11-1 CR and the right tune would be rad to see.

if i was at good terms with the local zuk dealer still i could get all the info you needed. would be cool to see done though for sure.

In the Tiburon community, the 1.8 ECU was preferred with the 2.0 since the 2.0 ecu ran too rich.

It would take some tuning, but would RRM be able to map a piggy for the ecu?

I do think it is doable...

i think if i shaved head like .050 and got a thinner head gasket could get lil more than just the 11.1 comp ratio.

I called the suzuki part departement, they told me that the cylinder head, the pistons and the connecting rods part number was exactly the same as an sx4 so if the name of the engine is the same too i think we have the same complete engine....

Yeah a 92mm piston and a 84mm piston will have the same part number : I think your parts guy messed up somewhere... That said the head could be correct. I,ll have a look later today.

I am game to make a map for the 2.4 with the RRM piggy :D just need to wait till my engine goes KABOOM! and see if it is really posible to swap in the 2.4 from the GV which i think it is not possible

The OP said "Grand Vitara".....those, Mine Included, had a V6 Engine, not a little 4 banger.
It was a totally bigger car, so it's highly unlikely that much Bigger V6 and everything that goes with it, would ever fit in an SX4. Eh?

They did also come with a 4cyl as well. The Chevy Trackers ( same truck rebadged) only came with the 4, and had no V6 option.
